Journal Entry #6

Last week in class we discussed privacy issues in relation to websites. This is a very important issue for many reasons. Having control of private information is necessary for a company to function because it stresses the trust between the client. If the trust isn't there then it is difficult to have an effective relationship.

There are many ways to ensure trust. There has to be proper ways of encoding files, there has to be proper software, and most importantly information needs to be regulated and checked constantly. There are many new ways to hack and get information so it is imperative to try and stay one step ahead of the game.

This is a very crucial topic in the field of technology. There are many ways that information can be stolen and manipulated. If hackers are able to do what they want with peoples information, the Internet will not be an effective tool because people will not trust in the system. As a company, being able to understand this is vital.

Journal Entry #5

The last lab that was completed dealt with networks and privacy. Understanding basic concepts regarding networks and privacy is key in any business and company. It is especially crucial to understand on today's world where technology is changing every second.

More important than just learning networks, privacy is also a part of technology that must be account for. There are a lot of hackers and other people who try to work their way into websites and other means of data to steal important information. This can damage a company and even make it so they collapse and cease to exist.

Companies that know the risk and account for them are able to make sure none of their data is stolen or made public to the Internet. As time goes on, there will be more and more ways to be attacked, but keeping up to date and understanding those risks will eventually lead to safety. This is one of the biggest problems facing Internet companies today and many are unable to see the risk and make the necessary changes to avert them.
